Pune: GE Aerospace has announced an investment of ₹100 Crore in its Pune manufacturing facility, further expanding its manufacturing footprint in India and reinforcing its long-term commitment to the country.
The latest investment by the company will support the introduction of new welding technologies, advanced inspection equipment, precision tools, gauges, fixtures, and additional infrastructure enhancements aimed at increasing production capacity and improving process precision for global customers.
The new ₹100 Crore investment builds on the ₹410 Crore already announced over the past two years, taking the company’s total investment in the Pune facility to more than ₹510 Crore over a three-year period.

Earlier investments by GE Aerospace focused on advancing manufacturing processes, automation, and capability enhancements to support next-generation engine components.
According to the company, the latest upgrades will further expand the Pune facility’s capabilities and support component production across the company’s GE90, GEnx, GE9X, and CFM International’s LEAP engine programs.

Over the past decade, this facility has grown into a high-capability aerospace manufacturing hub, strengthening India’s supplier ecosystem and contributing to GE Aerospace’s global supply chain,” he added.
GE Aerospace stated that its Pune manufacturing facility plays a critical role in the company’s global supply chain by producing essential components for commercial aircraft engines.
The Pune facility currently works with more than 300 local suppliers as part of a broader network of over 2,200 GE Aerospace suppliers across India.
The company noted that the Pune facility contributes to strengthening India’s role in global aerospace programs through advanced manufacturing expertise and precision engineering capabilities.

GE Aerospace also highlighted the role of the Pune site in workforce development. The facility’s structured two-year apprenticeship program enrolls more than 500 apprentices annually in classroom instruction and specialized TIG welding training through its dedicated Weld School.
Since 2015, GE Aerospace said the Pune facility has trained more than 5,000 production associates, helping create a strong pipeline of aerospace manufacturing talent in India.
The company added that recent community and workforce development grants have supported initiatives focused on technical education and skill development in the region.
The announcement further reinforces the company’s broader commitment to India, where the company continues to invest in manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain development to support the future of flight.
CFM International is a 50-50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
